Effortless Cork Removal for Your Most Treasured Bottles
The Durand™ is the ultimate tool for removing aged and fragile corks whole and intact. A favourite among sommeliers, collectors, and wine professionals, this patented device combines a traditional corkscrew with a two-pronged Ah-So, offering unrivalled performance when opening mature bottles that deserve extra care.
Designed specifically for older wines, the Durand excels where ordinary corkscrews fail. Whether you're opening a rare Bordeaux, a decades-old Barolo, or a treasured Burgundy, the Durand allows you to extract the cork smoothly and safely, without crumbling or breaking.
Why Choose the Durand™ Vintage Cork Remover?
Preserve the Integrity of Aged Corks
The Durand’s unique two-part system grips the cork securely while easing it out gently, reducing the risk of damage.
Trusted by Professionals Worldwide
Used in leading restaurants, wine bars, and auction houses across the globe.
Elegant and Durable Design
Crafted from high-quality materials and presented in a stylish case for safekeeping, an heirloom-worthy tool for any serious wine enthusiast.
Please note: The Durand is intended for use with natural corks only and performs best with older vintage wines.
How to use the Durand™ Vintage Cork Remover
- Screw HELIX into center of cork until STABILIZER BAR rests against top of cork (or bottle).
- With BLADES on either side of STABILIZER BAR, insert first the “long” then the “short” BLADE between the cork and bottle.
- Work the BLADES down between the cork and bottle by pressing down alternately over each BLADE using the HANDLE. Continue this “rocking” motion until the bottom of the HANDLE rests against the top of the STABILIZER BAR.
- Hold the bottle securely. On the other hand, grasp the STABILIZER BAR and HANDLE together and twist, then pull upward slowly, continuing to twist to remove the cork.
